He received his Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from University of Singapore in 1971. He then pursued his studies at the City of Birmingham Polytechnic, United Kingdom and graduated with a Diploma in Curriculum Studies in Art and Design. Each of his works has its unique properties such as hardness, texture, colour and grain, concealing a pre-ordained form, which challenges him to uncover. Although his works bear no conscious messages, they are nevertheless a reflection of his thoughts and feelings about life and its experiences. “ (Crossroads: The Making of New Identities, Page 26).
