因揭陀罗汉像墨锭
ОписаниеThis ink-stick takes the shape of a Chinese hand scroll. Its front is embossed with the figure of the 13th Arhat, Yinjietuo. The inscription on the reverse side refers to the Arhat in his patchwork kasaya robe, carrying a walking stick, with a sutra scroll placed across his chest, followed by a lamentation about the inadequacy of the written word in revealing all philosophical truths.
Yinjietuo ranks 13th among the 18 Arhats. He was a snake catcher in ancient India, often going to the moutains carrying a sack to catch venomous snakes which he would release after extracting their fangs. Yinjietuo, also known as the Budai Monk, became an Arhat through doing acts of kindness.
墨锭以书画手卷造型。正面凸刻“第十三因揭陀尊者像”,背面行楷书,记述尊像身穿百衲袈裟,手扶杖节,经书横置于胸前。接着阐述哲理,若有记文,其文无所不有,而非文字之面。
因揭陀为十八罗汉之第十三尊像,本是古印度一捕蛇者,常携带布袋进山,捉住毒蛇拔其毒牙后再放生。因揭陀以善心修得阿罗汉果,又称布袋罗汉。
