[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]The epitaph belonged to the tomb of Wu Wengao. It was commissioned by Wu's sons, Shouyue and Shouren in memory of Wu and his first wife, Madam Zhang. It records the name of Wu, his place of residence, his family members and names of his offspring and grandchildren.
This is followed by further information about Wu who was born in 1470 and passed away in 1534 at the age of 65. Zhang died later at the age of 71. Both were buried together beside his ancestral tomb, in a plot of land marked 'Shan', at the foot of a mountain in ‘Ershisidu’. Lastly, total farmland owned by the family and its geographical areas were listed.
The epitaph on this plaque is written in regular script, in a meticulous fashion albeit with a slightly amateurish hand.
此墓志瓷牌是由墓主之子守约、守仁为其父母而立。内容先记墓主姓氏、住所、家眷及儿孙名字;再述墓主吴文高生于1470年,卒于1534年,享年65岁;妻张氏晚高氏卒,享年71岁,二人合葬于二十四都大麓善字号地,祖墓之侧;最后标记家产所有田地数量及地标范围。

墓志以记述死者姓名、籍贯和生平,随墓主葬于墓中。形式有刻石、砖文等,明清时期也有瓷牌形式流行于世。此牌以楷体书写,字迹端正工整中略显稚拙。
