[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]“Eng Teng expressed his thoughts and experiences his sculptures. He was inspired not only by his immediate environment but also by the universe. His works were based on life and humanity, depicting poverty, loss, justice, love and pam. His earlier works of the late 1960s show the close bonds of love and joy between mother and child.
The Self-Portrait has always been the artist's most intriguing vehicle for analysis and self-expression. The unusual freedom offered him by the dual occupation of the roles of both subject and creator has meant that self portraiture has been of especial value and interest in his work.”
