Portraiture was among the subject matter of his academic pursuits, and these early works clue influences from his teacher and mentor Georgette Chen, and laid the foundation for his later sculptural rendering of the human figure. Drawing and sketching remained a distinct and significant medium throughout Ng’s practice.
