Description“Abstract Torso III, 1992 is a testimonial to such a method of work; the head and abdomen/back are removed, leaving for view the upper limbs and truncated remains of the lower limbs. The prospect of recasting or reconfiguring the body emerges as dymatic; Eng Teng grapples with it and proceeds to create a constellation of figurative compositions that are startling and disturbing. Male and female bodies are scrutinished, directing our attention to bear on extents to which the human body is wrested as site for manipulation.
