It is an extract of the inscription from the Huashan Stele installed in the eighth year of Yanxi (165 CE), during the Eastern Han period. The original inscription detailed the worship rituals of Heaven and Earth conducted by the emperor. With its characteristic square and robust form, it was hailed as a masterpiece of official script of the Han Dynasty.
