In Rajasthan turban cloihs with bandana patterns were traditionally worn by men at festivals, and the red chundari (spotted head veil) often features in India poetry, as worn by a woman when meeting her lover. Red dye on white cotton. Patterned by tie-dye technique.
Bandhani is an Indian tie-dye technique, sometimes called ‘chunari’ in Gujarat.
