DescripciónLandscape elements, that is, earth and sky are transformed into light-filled planes, which at times apear as disembodied and floating, and at other times connected to form angled and fragmented units. This picture marks a culmination of Thomas Yeo's.
This is a landscape of the mind, an emotional responseto nature that contains elements of Romanticism characterised by a sense of mystery and openess of spirit. It was painted soon after his art training in U.K. Later he continued with his abstraction using the collagist method of picture making. He made minimal reference to observable reality but did not discard it altogether. Thomas Yeo is a leading second generation artst. Besides painting he has published four books to promote Singapore art and artists. He was conferred the Cultural Medallion in 1984.
