Bibliography:Born in 1928, Foo Chee San moved to Singapore and studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Teacher's Training College. With a scholarship, he went on to Japan to study art and craft at the Industrial Art Institute. While he has participated in many exhibitions locally, he has featured extensively in many exhibitions overseas. As an art educator, Foo taught Chinese painting at the National University of Singapore and lectured with the Art Education department of the Institute of Education. An artist with an artistic flair in Chinese ink painting, he captures picturesque landscapes of Malaysian and Indonesian villages using the typical three depth arrangement of traditional Chinese landscape paintings.
