BeschreibungLANDSCAPE, ink on paper, hanging scroll, 120x59cm by Zhang Pengzhong, Nanhua Shanren (1688-1745), signed Nanhua Shanren Zhang Pengzhong, two seals and two collectors's seals dated 1742. Landscape in the style of noted Yuan painter Ni Zan, foreground of hilly terrain, prominent in tall trees of various description and a bamboo grove to the right under which a simple arbour, blank mid-ground designating vast body of water and beyond, diminishing hill ranges in infinited distance, all done in strong and swift brush work.
