The geometric repeates in the centre-field recall the jelamprang (eight-pointed) motif in patola (silk double ikat) as well as the interlocking octagons and squares commonly featured in ajarakh from Rajasthan. The transverse borders consist of floral scrolls and a row of tumpal (triangular motifs) filled with vines. Whilst one border is predominantly red the other is indigo blue and off-white. The narrow lateral borders are also one half red and the other off-white. This is therefore a pagi-sore ("morning-evening") type of batik where the red border is worn outermost during the day and the blue-and-off-white at night.
