This Buddha Akshobhya sculpture “is from eastern India, of the Post Gupta period, circa 7th century, depicting Buddha in ‘bhumisparsha mudra’, seated in ‘padmasana’ touching the earth with the right hand. The carving is very summary and lacks details, while retaining the massiveness of the eastern Indian sculptural form.
