الوصف“Born in Singapore, Chong Fah Cheong has worked with stone and metal but perhaps his best works are wood-carving as wood is a material he finds in great variety and abundance in Canada where he now resides.
He received his Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from University of Singapore in 1971. He then pursued his studies at the City of Birmingham Polytechnic, United Kingdom and graduated with a Diploma in Curriculum Studies in Art and Design.
Each of his works has its unique properties such as hardness, texture, colour and grain, concealing a pre-ordained form, which challenges him to uncover. Although his works bear no conscious messages, they are nevertheless a reflection of his thoughts and feelings about life and its experiences. “ (Crossroads: The Making of New Identities, Page 26).
