BeskrivningGRANITE GROUP SCULPTURE OF AVALOKITESVARA AND ATTENDANTS, the former seated on a pedestal with enlarged stepped octagonal base, the legs bent, right one in upright position, left one laid on the seat, right hand on the knee and the left holding the shawl over a long robe with pleats and a central fold hanging over the seat and pedestal; simple jewellery of a pendant on the bare chest; the hair done in braids parted in the middle and drawn up to form a top-knot covered by a diadem; on either side stood a Bodhisattva on lotus pedestal, similarly but more simply attired; behind them a bald-headed attendant standing on either side of the main figure in simple long robe with hands clasped at the chest; at the extremes of the group is positioned on either side a Lokapala almost facing sideways with one arm and fisted hand raised and one leg stepping on a pedestal facing front, and the other hand rested on it, the other leg standing erect with the raised arm; all backed by a plain mandorla with a flattened, cusped top and slightly tapering sides to the base.
