The Jieshisong was composed in the 28th year of the reign of Qinshihuang (219 BCE), by eminent Qin ministers such as Prime Minister Li Si to commemorate Qinshihuang's trip to Mount Taishan. With superb control of the brush, Yi imitated the visual effect of words engraved on stone. His strokes are evenly distributed and form a formal square. Some strokes have arches that look like bows, which give rise to the name, Three Bows Seal Script. The couplet expresses the philosophical belief of Yi - "The wise and knowledgeable are able to transcend the worries of the world.
